To become a certified personal trainer, you need to pass a certification exam from the ACSM. ACSM offers several certifications. These include the ACSM-Certified Personal Trainer(r), ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist/CEP, and ARP/ACSM Certified Roling Physician (CRP). These exams can be taken online or at your office using OnVUE or Pearson VUE. The exam is proctored via internet and can be viewed through a webcam. The exam is approximately $100. You can choose from the Basic or Professional Plans. The Basic Plan includes 2 online courses, 5 hands-on scenarios, ten practice exams, and 10 questions for the exam.
